Who we are
Climate Defenders is a multigenerational and multiracial action home rising up against the oil industry to protect our planet and our communities.
For generations, big oil billionaires, dirty politicians, and greedy executives have prioritized profits over the well-being of our planet and its people. They pollute our air, poison our water, and dump toxins into our neighborhoods.
As Climate Defenders, we are fighting to end the reign of big oil billionaires and build a new future with good jobs, clean water, safe air, and a liveable and affordable future for our families.
WE’RE FIGHTING FOR THE PEOPLE AND PLACES WE LOVE
We all deserve affordable, clean, and safe communities. Our communities should have access to good-paying jobs, clean air, drinkable water, public transportation, and affordable housing. For that to become a reality we need clean energy that is accessible to all. We fight for a clean and equitable economy that works for all.
Imagine a world where clean, renewable energy fuels our homes, where our air and water are pure and our communities thrive. We need a future where Indigenous communities regain sovereignty over the lands they have protected for generations. Where everyone across the globe is safe from climate disasters. This vision is within reach, and together, we will make it a reality.

We are building a movement that will win. Climate Defenders is assembling a multigenerational and multiracial movement that can take to the streets in mass and isn’t afraid to use nonviolent civil disobedience to protect our communities and our future. People of all walks of life from across the country are becoming Climate Defenders and learning how to fight back against Big Oil. Our economy has allowed billionaire polluters to profit from the destruction of our communities. It’s no accident that oil, coal and gas are extracted, refined, and burned primarily in communities of color and Indigenous lands. Our people get sick and die and the billionaire polluters get richer.
